PEPA - Purchase Environmental Protective Association

February 25, 2009

Welcome to the PEPA Perspective Online, the web edition of our newsletter for friends of the Purchase Environmental Protective Association. Here are a few news bulletins (from the Harrison Planning Board Meeting held on February 24, 2008) we thought you may want to know about.

Harrison Executive Park Revised Site Plan

Harrison Executive Office Park, 3000-3030 Westchester Avenue, has an application before the TVH Planning Board for — Site Plan Review, Special Exception Use Permit, SEQR Review, and Public Hearing. Other applications for the site have been before the TVH Planning board in 2002, 2003, and 2007 in various forms. The current application requests to add a single (4) four- story building to the existing office park. The site is located on the big curve of Westchester Ave — where Purchase Street begins. It was noted at the Planning Board meeting that this site is considered by some to be in area that acts a "gateway" to Purchase.

The 2007 version of the application asked for same total square footage (106,482 sq feet) but in two separate buildings. The proposed building would add a fourth building that is larger in size, than the existing three, to the office park. The developers have told PEPA that the building will be "green," LEED certified, and feature an attractive design that is architecturally prominent, designed to show itself to travelers on 287.

If approved the application would require a significant parking variance (over 150 spaces). The public hearing for the application remains open and will be heard at the next meeting of the Harrison Planning Board on March 24th, 2009. Interested community members are urged to attend.

Cobblestone Restaurant - Kitchen Addition

This application is being sought to satisfy safety requests from the Harrison Building Department & Fire Departments. The application seeks to expand the kitchen to correct current violations. All additional square footage will be placed in the kitchen. No additional seating will be created.

Brae Burn Country Club - Clubhouse Addition

The Club seeks approval to modernize and improve the existing clubhouse. The public hearing was opened. The applicant plans to return next month to request site plan approval.
